It’s always a good idea to have someone watching the watchman. We depend upon the federal government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics to track unemployment numbers despite the fact that we know the data is already manipulated by the various formulas that they use to compile the statistics. I stumbled across a Brietbart piece last week (that I haven’t seen in other media outlets) showing that Gallup also tracks unemployment and the most recent poll they undertook showed a huge jump in unemployment from 7.7% up to 8.9%. This occurred from July 21st to August 31st, a mere thirty days!

The same Gallup data shows that the rate of underemployed workers went up from 17.1% to 17.9% in the same period. The underemployed number is the key stat to look at is it includes those working less than 30 hours a week and those who are unemployed and who want to work. Sadly, working part-time is now the new normal under the Obama administration’s attack on our economy. With Obamacare coming into play, the number of full-time workers is going to plummet, which is, of course, part of the plan.

Most would consider such stats to be horrific and begin planning on how to remedy the situation, but this does not occur in Obama’s White House. He may go on tv and speak eloquently about the current job situation and how his plan will “get Americans back to work!” but it’s all a lie. These numbers are golden for Obama and his progressive cronies because it shows that their agenda is working. The ultimate goal of statists is to get the population totally dependent upon the government for everything, especially the essentials for life. A man or woman who is independent and can move freely around in a capitalist market-driven economy is a bad thing in their eyes. Such a person isn’t wise enough to make decisions for themselves, be it financial, medical, or even family. That person needs the firm, but wise, hand of a benevolent government to shepherd them through life. The reality is that these “shepherds” have never had to fend for themselves in the real world. Their only experience is getting fluff jobs from cronies or living off taxpayer money.

Sadly, I think things are going to get much worse before it gets better. The only hope to prevent such a catastrophe is for a conservative sweep through government but that assumes that our elected officials will keep their word. Call me cynical but just repeat to yourself, “Marco Rubio.” I hope I’m wrong.
